Telkom's plan to cut 2,000 employees "outrageous" — Union

Communications Workers Union (CWU) general secretary Aubrey Tshabalala said they would fight Telkom’s plan to retrench 15% of its workforce.

The CWU, together with the South African Communication Union (SACU), jointly represent the majority of Telkom’s workforce.

At least Telkom is reducing costs ahead of bankrupcy, unlike every SOE where they operate in bankrupcy for years and depend on taxpayer bailouts. SOE's never reduce staff until its way too late. ie: Post Office, SAA, Denel etc. etc.
