I thought the question would be did he make the right call by giving the tell-all interview. Leaving with immediate effect was not his decision to make, he was fired with immediate effect because of his interview.
His interview had consequences which he knew it would, so was still his decision.

We also need to remember the culture we're dealing with.

To the average African businessman, skimming, "commission", "feeding at the trough", "having something to eat as well" - is just common everyday normality. Its not viewed as something bad, unjust, criminal etc.

To change that is impossible. I see it every time I travel to certain countries in Africa. If they're willing to force non-profits to bribe them to deliver food to their starving dying people, trust me - stealing from your "rich" power utility is keeping none of them up at night.

right call, absolutely,
exposing the ANC for the Corrupt idiots they are?
unless he goes into hiding in Switzerland next, not sure if that's beneficial to his long term health

as the Cadres are bound to be less than pleased he has exposed their dealings. and turned off the flow of feed to the piggy trough.

Where are all the twats who said he was just an incapable leader?

Would have liked more evidence based accusations.

Who knows maybe he has some tucked away but it would be great to get it out ASAP where no one can dispute or claim false accusations.
Prolly his safety net, and damage already done to the anc should hopefully be enough.

Was it up to him to leave early? Reports say that the Eskom board dismissed him with immediate effect.
