Well yes, for his own sake.
It might be better for us if he had stayed but then again perhaps we need someone who is willing to be a bit more gangster.
Horrible fine-line that, but you may be right....

As "right a call" as there can be, if you are someone who speaks out against the mafia.

Because that is clearly what we are now, confirmed by facts.

A Mafia state. Let that sink in. An organization where those in charge are criminals, and run the enterprise to extract criminal gains. The ANC is officially a criminal enterprise, actively engaging in organized crime, with law enforcement officially acting as their enforcers, for a share of the spoils.

He made the right call to leave.
He made the wrong call to take the job in the first place.
I cannot imagine what he was thinking when he decided to step into the role. Yes, I understand that some people just cannot say no to a challenge, but the challenge of saving a company like Eskom? Did he really have so much confidence in his own abilities? Did he really think he could take Eskom and turn it around? He comes across as an intelligent guy, but being so dumb as to thinking he could sort things out?

I am guessing he was promised the backing of key stakeholders.

It was a tactical move, a smart one too. It was a mistake taking the job, but then I know what it is like when employers lie (or hide) about the real conditions. But coming out in public ensured he will get fired, and not have to fulfill his resignation terms, and not having to answer to the country for the **** that is about to hit.

Hope he has alot more to say when he's on the other side. It's common knowledge but I'm sure he has alot more details to spill. Only thing is will something or anything be done about it, ye... no. Keep the voters desperate enough to be happy to get their hand to mouth grants and nothing will change.

What it also means is we have to stop trusting the official figures from Eskom / Grabbamint - all lies, at best heavy exaggerations.

When he started the job he said in an interview, he doesn't just want to complain about the country and he wants to make a positive change.

If nothing else, this interview will ** hopefully ** lead to that positive change. ( as long as the public keeps demanding answers/action)

Like he also said there are some smart people working at Eskom and with proper financial and political backing Eskom can be turned around. There will be a lot of firing and contract reviews/cancellations, etc. needed.
With new generation and distribution being made a national priority/focus. If we scrap the BBBEEE requirements we can get international companies to quickly import/install batteries (look at Aus and Elon).

I'm sure he was given the full new dawn rainbows and unicorns promises and that he will have the full backing of the presidency to transform the organisation.

I am worried for Andre's trusted reports. There can't be many but I hope they will be safe as they will not have the means to escape the ANC orcs.

Seems like he's given up on SA on whole.
This call he made was to leave and never return.

Hopefully it doesn't catchup with him and his family, but he'll be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life.
