Calib Cassim appointed as Eskom interim CEO

Eskom has appointed chief financial officer (CFO) Calib Cassim as its interim group chief executive officer (CEO) following the exit of André de Ruyter.

The utility said it was pleased to announced that Cassim would take the reigns with immediate effect.

More NB, he was a CFO

Nothing quite like having an accountant run an energy company especially one that can't gets it's **** together financially speaking

Anyone currently in Eskom is not the right appointment because they must be aware of the crimes and have done nothing to stop it and hence nothing will change.

Lmfao.........so another "non engineer". Where are the comments?

A Brown guy, good! I asked for this a while back.

Let's see how it goes.
The brown guy presided over 20 years of financial malfeasance and regulatory irregularities. He has also deftly avoided any media/journoscum eye, not that they're worth a damn anyway.

Surely as the CFO he should also be asking the hard questions.
He just coasts along and watches the money disappearing.
He will make a good CEO.

If he's an accountant then he should be able to reduce Eskom's debt.

Oh wait he's been there 20 years so he oversaw Eskom's debt soaring to new heights.....

Just a bit of dark humour. Seeing as we will all be sitting in the dark. For a while.
