Need Help on Dhelphi for my son's school project

I persuaded my 15 yr old to do IT lessons which is held at SACS. I was totally gobsmacked when I learnt we had to install Delphi (Embarcadero) on our home PC. I asked the teachers why Delphi and not Python and they assured me they do teach them the basics and that the course was sponsored. Anyway, I decided after looking at the tutorials this is a waste of time and energy and won't be of any use in the real world. Attached is an example of the worksheet they gotta do which is essentially a spreadsheet problem that one has to code using the GUI and teaches them little about coding, except the pain of declaring types for an outdated language.

I did Java & some SQL, funny enough my schools girls campus did Delphi for some reason.

Waaaaay back in school when IBM PCs had not yet / barely been invented, I started with some Basic interpreter on a ‘desktop’ computer. This was before DOS.. It was CP/M I think. Then Fortran on Univac

Waaay back when I was in school I... oh wait we did not have computers back then.

I did learn Basic on Commodore 64, wrote my 1st virus and forgot to save it before I execute it. Oh fun.
