Gordhan slams De Ruyter as green globetrotter

The South African minister who oversees state power utility Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. accused its former chief executive officer Andre de Ruyter of spending too much time promoting a transition to green energy and paying inadequate attention to fixing its broken coal-burning plants.

De Ruyter spent three turbulent years at the helm of Eskom, during which he struggled to end rolling blackouts that have crippled the economy or get its shaky finances back on track.

Well now that he has gone everything should come right lol.
The BS will come out now trying to defend the thieving ANC. Billions upon billions stolen which could have created jobs and helped the poor of this country. Just give the poor enough to survive, enough medical to make them rely on the government, enough social grants to stop them starving to death. These are great communist tactics. The rich get richer and the poor remain stupid.

That sounds like a different economic system and its tactics.

You cannot fix something that broken you stupid poeth.

They look like they are going to milk the de Ruyter thing for all it is worth. And even non-ANC people are playing into that one, blaming de Ruyter for the current state of Eskom. Although it is pretty ridiculous for the ANC to pretend they don’t ultimately run Eskom.

I love how the criminals are outing themselves.
All the ANC guys comming back acting like there is no corruption at eskom are the ones that need to be punished.

And you will never see the ANC comrats go one on one with an investigative reporter on TV like De Ruyter did. Exposure will be instant like when Steven Sackur of the BBC's first question to Zuma was; - "Are you a crook?"

Why is a respected news agency like Bloomberg saying:

He abruptly left the company this week after giving a television interview in which he accused unidentified members of the governing African National Congress of stealing from the utility.

I thought he was ordered to leave with immediate effect?

I will say I do agree with Gordhan's assessment that De Ruyter was a little too "new green deal" befok.

However De Ruyter was put in place to reduce debt first and foremost, not solve an energy crisis in 2 years that was 20 years in the making.
