I think they just get whoever is available. They won't be able to get all the bona fide legends. Andrew Puttick even played.

Fair enough, he can be considered a legend of SA franchise cricket but he only played 1 ODI for the Proteas and scored a duck.
 
Anyone have any ideas of the worst ever Protea ever? Many would say Tsolekile but he was a solid domestic player to be fair. Every country seems to have had a few players who were below average domestically but somehow got a few international caps (due to luck mainly). Trying to think of someone from SA.

I remember someone mentioning Clive Eksteen, 7 tests for SA, 8 wickets at 61.75. True his economy was great but eish. :X3:

Similar case to Tsolekile tbh. He had average domestic stats. Trying to find someone with below average international and domestic stats, lol.

Gerhardus Liebenburg.
Louis Koen.
Stiaan van Zyl
Morne van Eyck
 
Protea contracted players for the next year. Stubbs,rickelton magala,fortuin and jansen given contracts.
Janneman malan, phelukwayo and Dwaine pretorius are those omitted from the last list. Dwaine retired and other 2 dropped due to performances.

Good to see contracts did increase to 20.
