What game are you playing now? (Part 2)

I might have to check again, last time I saw that, it wasn't the actual DC, it just installed the PS5 version of the standard game. The Director's Cut still showed that I had to pay R300 some odd. Maybe it's for the Deluxe PS Plus subscription that you're seeing? I'm on Extra.
Nah, it's on Extra, as kabal says. That's what I have, too.

Got the The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition last night for erm cheap with method.

Ceveat warning: The Outer Worlds original already had stuttering issues so don't expect this "remake" to be any better. In fact, the Spacer's Choice Edition is literally the base game with all of the dlc and imho minor touch ups.

On initial release yesterday it was cheaper to buy the base game, the dlc and then the upgrade. However, this may not be true any more as they've apparently changed the discount amount on the original base game and dlcs.

However, this method still may work [updated: if you have the base already or can get it else where for cheap]:
Greenmangaming
1. Buy and redeem the base game on steam (just the base not the dlcs) ± R258 (note: Back to R899)
2. Buy and redeem the Spacer's Choice Edition upgrade with MAR15 voucher ±R140
3. Now you have the Spacer's Choice Edition for about 400 ZAR.

Of course if you already have the base or the base and the dlc then just get the upgrade [untested].

edit:
I see the base game on GMG is now back to R899. Sorry.
Obsidian Entertainment made a game about themselves, a greedy corp

Outer Worlds really is a terrible game imo. It will also always be known as the covid game to me because it's the game I played in isolation when I had covid

I am sure it’s better on PC but I tried to play it on Xbox with controller and it was crap - maybe it was because I am rubbish with a controller on FPS, but picking up any items was a chore.
I was certain it was going to be my type of game. Maybe I do need to give it another go, with keyboard and mouse….

I just couldn't get into the game. Gameplay, missions, totally uninteresting world and story... It all sucked.

The irony isn't lost in the remake's title...

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition
see: https://www.windowscentral.com/gami...ce-edition-a-disappointingly-appropriate-name

The issues from the original still persists which and this is cross platform

Still for R400 for the game and all of it's dlc is ok if you actually know you can "fix" most if not all the stuttering by applying yourself*. However, one would expect to have been fixed with the revamp. It is actually laughable that the unreal engine has become trash up to a point comparing it to back then. You know when it was ID Tech Vs unreal and they just started out. But I think the whole stuttering mess of today's releases is a combination of things:

Recent consoles being mostly amd and ati
Having direct storage and over technologies
Windows machines wrapping that up into dx 12 ultimate
Nvidia ****ing up their "pipe processing"; them adding resizable bar
The overall computation load of not having loading screens mixed with texture and ray tracing demands vs your cpu, ram, gpu, nvm/ssd how they talk to each other and their limitations

I guess one could call it "bad optimization" or specifically targeted development now failing other platforms because of its implementation of lazyness thereof.

*I've narrowed mine down using a few fixes from the originals which seems to work for now anyways
Full screen
Some engine.ini tweaks (pc game wiki -> the outer worlds -> unreal + common sense and other things I like there)
Driver level vsync, fps cap and how refresh rate is handled

But all that is just silly when you've paid for something but you have to fix, tune and trial and error it. I do this for a living 8 hours a day and gaming is suppose to be plug and play, right?

Lol, also started playing during Covid but got boring very quickly.
I don't mind it's that one cousin from fallout and just something on the side I do as my guilty b-rated movie pleasure.

Warzone 2 DMZ, downloaded the free version off Steam about 3 weeks ago to check it out and man, is it great fun..

Also the first time playing online that I'm actually making friends that I play with again & again, lots of Afrikaans on there.

Was trying out the Xbox version for loadshedding since I have a Ecoflow River Max that can drive the Xbox but not quite my pc. Still struggling with the controller tho, I've always gamed on pc so super used to keyboard & mouse.

So decided to try Cyberpunk to see how all the patches have helped. Created my character, game started loading.....and carried on "loading" till I had to shut it down. Great improvement..

So started Deathloop. Interesting, but I find the menu's quite cumbersome so far.
