WP: The US will need 15 years to replenish its main weapons systems
WP article
Earlier research done by the Washington think tank illustrates a more pervasive problem: The slow pace of U.S. production means it would take as long as 15 years at peacetime production levels, and more than eight years at a wartime tempo, to replace the stocks of major weapons systems such as guided missiles, piloted aircraft and armed drones if they were destroyed in battle or donated to allies.
I'm confused.

The Battle of Bakhmut has come at immense cost to both sides

Opinion article but interesting nonetheless.
Good article.

What is true is that yes, the Russians have suffered huge casualties, far more than the casualties suffered by Ukraine, however Russia was losing convicts and Ukraine was losing their soldiers.

It may dampen Ukraine's plans for a counter offensive. I am not sure. I am still uncertain as to what the outcome of Bakhmut will be.

You praising Wagner. Interesting.

There is apparently two Wagners operating. The human conscript wave version and a highly kitted ex special forces version. So which one do you want to face? The version that you hope you have enough ammo for or the one you may not see coming.

I think there is a long term impact to Russia that will only become evident in a generation or two.

Yes, they're throwing convicts and recently mobilised so totally untrained, but a number of those recently mobilised will be their younger men so they're creating a huge hole in their population and workforce.

Why would I face them?

LOGoddamnL! Must have been MyBB's vatnik trolls on-shift at the troll farm:

I must say, I'm quite disgusted. The fact that Ukraine is using these weapons is really screwed up...

They think they have power but they're just a bunch of tools.

Russia is sooo much more screwed up economically than I could imagine.

It's a long video, but the guy is using Russian stats, which probably are over optimistic. They they lost something like 75%? of their national wealth fund (oil and gas $) in less than a year. 1.5 mill of the most active work force gone, 1mill IT workers deficit by 2024, 400 000 deficit of skilled workers shortage in the defence production.

And in the other industries workers are switched to temp or they let people go on indefinite unpaid leave to hind unemployment.

Real inflation on Russian products is around 30-40 % like pasta which is made in Russia with their bumper crop year , and on imports is 45-50% inflation. Income increased by 1%.
