maybe us "Europeans" just don't get the joke, as why make all this Noise for literally nothing.

I was expecting Riots, burning tires, protests, stones, and there is nothing but increased police presence.
and a VIP in a blue light convoy being escorted.
Life is easy when you're sitting at the top and rubbing shoulders with the rest of cadres

Sandton is prodding along, we're all working hard :) (i'm at the coffee shop right now, but will move up to the office shortly..)

Bit of a traffic balls up at the airport last night, the usual entitled motorists doing their own thing and making it worse and more police on the roads during the journey than I have seen for years in total.

I want to say yes I was affected as it was an absolute pleasure coming to work. lots of police and security visibility.
Same here. Picked up a colleague at the airport, and the N2 looked like it does with December holiday traffic. SAPS and CoCT Traffic vehicles all around.

Yes, badly.

I saw the red overalls cnutface leader speak 4 times already today.

No. Long weekend for me. Went to the shops this morning and everthing was open for business as usual. Nothing is closed and no eff clown in sight.

Somebody seems to be trying a Mbeki on Cyril. And they claim to have lifted Jacob as well... lol. Still in cahoots imho.

This is just pandering to the give long weekend voting block.

Normal 'special' holiday in Helderberg, Cape Town. Some businesses are open, others are closed. What is notable is how empty the roads are… transportation has come to a halt, but people are travelling.

I expected the usual N2 disturbance, but that didn't pan out either. The shutdown is meh.

Everything looked normal when we went out this morning. Nothing is shut down.
