I always thought Ramabooi should've been a gardener. But the more he opens his mouth the more I think he should rather apply for the flower pot job. Dumb bastid.

No! A new (different) government will not just stop the social grants. Talk like that is why the people keep voting ANC! They believe such nonsense rhetoric.
 
We will give you a grant ... but take away health care, educational facility's - Pit toilets work just fine, take away stability and security - you'all can fight the crime yourself s and seeing as you have been using candles forever, so you can carry on using those - but hey, we gave you a grant - Huge success ..

Any government involving itself in grant payments at this scale is doomed to fail. There will be no chance of success, no matter who they are or how strong their economy is or will be. Grants on this scale is not sustainable and any person who knows how to run a country will know it cannot be done in any way or form. Easy as that. Any government who does not stop this with immediate effect, will be just another Socialist ANC party and end up the same. If grant payments are the future for a government to keep control, there simply is no future for the country itself.

Absolutely correct, but no government will just cut off social grant payments overnight, without creating a safety net for the poor and unemployed.

Phasing it out, sure, but not stopping it "cold turkey". It will cause a revolution.

Oh and by the way, the World Bank considers it a plus, seen in the context of a transfer towards "sustainable and productive investments in its people".
 
I am all for helping elderly people, disabled people, orphans get by... I mean it is what governments should do, but all the rest of the grants are not something to be proud of. In fact we should take away from the other grants to give to the truly vulnerable groups of society - not people who make endless kids

Ramaphosa is taking credit from his preApartheid comrades who stated that they must breed South Africans out.

They incentivized this with child grant just having children to supplement their income.

Once the elderly white people die then white people will be insignificant except in elections where they are the root of all problems and social ills

How do grant recipients feel? Sure it's nice to get a few bob for mahala, but these people must be terribly despondent when they see others from their background driving polos and eating fried chicken 2 or 3 times a week.

Agree 100%. About endless kids, in cities, I do not know of anyone who has more than 3 kids (2 is more common - apparently helps to manage better) but then I am talking about middle class upwards. Exclusion is 1 professor I know who has 7 kids but he is from Ghana.

SImilar issue with the black community in US. Social ills like crime is created by the ANC with their child grant policies.
