err, river flowing slowly through the landscape will not generate power. You need a shitload of water moving at speed, like from a drop in the dam wall to spin the turbines.

Innovation is key here. There are different kinds of turbines used in Hydroelectric plants ie.
Bulb turbine
Straflo
Tube turbine
Kaplan Turbine

etc etc


Google Kinetic turbine. this can be used in rivers.

Yeah some places just aren't that well suited and you're physically limited in how far you can efficiently transport electricity.
It's one of the problems of pushing renewables as a blanket solution when each area is unique.

RIP fish that gets caught ans slaughtered on a daily basis. have you ever seen how they kill a snoek? they break it's neck. Check youtube it's way worse. If a bird flies into a wind turbine then it was dumb and deserves to die.

Yep, but those fish are used. The 23% of fish that die because of turbines aren't.

Don't get me wrong it just means they need to improve/adapt the technology. Just like they need to consider the blocking factor from the noise on marine versions.
