Ramokgopa details 7,100MW that could be brought back online - with money and environmental exemptions

Every new person at Eskom...WE NEED MORE MONEY. WE STOLE THE MONEY MEANT FOR IT ANYWAY.

Guessing we'll be told they're going for option 3 ("apply to the authority to get exemptions to environmental requirements but invest in emissions-curbing technology over time") which will inevitably end up as option 2 ("increase output and infringe on environmental requirements"). I mean, we have one power plant with flue gas desulfurisation, Kusile, and they're currently building a "temporary" smokestack to bypass it. The emissions-curbing technology will be put in the too-hard box and Eskom will increase its proud record as the largest emitter of sulfur dioxide in the world.

Blaming emissions-curbing for loadshedding is reaching for straws.

The FGS broke after 2 years, so what is the point of building a new one? They might as well bypass it and make that permanent and let their voters die from respiratory disease.

I'm sure this guy has been put there to wind the citizens of SA up.........ffs. Talk about the obvious.

Spent 200k per mop, tried to get exempted from reporting wasteful spendings, and they have the balls to say they need more money to FIX eskom.
I love how they think that South Africans believe any new money given to eskom will be used appropriately instead of just fattening up the comrades.
Maybe the minister should just ask the comrades to eat less instead of appealing to the public, maintenance will probably end up having more money to use this way.

The root cause resides not at any power station or Megawatt Park, but solely at lootfreely house. But unfortunately the focus is purely on pillaging and not actually fixing the issue
