Guessing we'll be told they're going for option 3 ("apply to the authority to get exemptions to environmental requirements but invest in emissions-curbing technology over time") which will inevitably end up as option 2 ("increase output and infringe on environmental requirements"). I mean, we have one power plant with flue gas desulfurisation, Kusile, and they're currently building a "temporary" smokestack to bypass it. The emissions-curbing technology will be put in the too-hard box and Eskom will increase its proud record as the largest emitter of sulfur dioxide in the world.
The FGS broke after 2 years, so what is the point of building a new one? They might as well bypass it and make that permanent and let their voters die from respiratory disease.Guessing we'll be told they're going for option 3 ("apply to the authority to get exemptions to environmental requirements but invest in emissions-curbing technology over time") which will inevitably end up as option 2 ("increase output and infringe on environmental requirements").
