South Africa getting R300,000 electric car

Energy group Megamillion says its Everione Happy electric vehicle (EV) will be priced around R300,000 when it arrives locally towards the end of 2025.

Megamilion previously announced it had secured an agreement with JSW MG India to import, assemble, and distribute its affordable EVs in Sub-Saharan Africa.

What type of charging port is one this one? Type 2?

Atleast EVs are coming in at the lower side of the market now.

You can probably get 3 days pf driving out of that

But they must do a electricity cost vs petrol cost on these things

If you fill up your car 2/3x per month but you charge your car 6/7x per month - I feel with Eskom and Muncipal rates for electricity usage the electric car works out WAY more expensive

Unless you have solar - which adds at a minimum 120K to the purchase price?
