Rain and storm for Cpt pt 2

Gemini says something else lol.

Yesterday, March 11, 2026, the highest official temperature in the world was recorded in the Southern Hemisphere, which is currently experiencing a historic late-summer heatwave.

World High Temperature: March 11, 2026

While global data centers (like the WMO) take a few days to certify the absolute "official" peak, real-time meteorological reports indicate:

Highest Temperature: 46.8°C (116.2°F)

Location: Augrabies Falls, Northern Cape, South Africa.

The temperature at CT airport is already down to 23C, but the dew point has rocketed up to 20C. It feels rather humid, particularly inside where temperatures have only dropped slightly from 30C to 28C. Friday should be slightly cooler than today, but humidity is likely to remain high. Sat 14th is likely to be significantly cooler, but the heatwave seems likely to continue for the foreseeable future, as the South Atlantic High remains dominant:

Out of interest, what is the rainfall accumulation so far this year? It feels like we are already behind after the terrible rainfall from last year.

It's irrelevant really, since the soil is too dry for any runoff into the dams to be significant enough to increase dam levels significantly.. need consistent rain spells to saturate the soil enough for runoff to occur..
