MTN launches Pi mobile and Home Internet plans

MTN has launched Pi, a new suite of mobile and Home Internet month-to-month products that customers can manage from a dedicated app.

The mobile network operator is offering a special three-month launch promotion where new customers can get up to 20GB of data per month for R1.

No thanks Capitec Connect is cheaper. Also why the need to create a new app? Dear Lord it's like Discovery with 3 apps instead of just 1 or 2. Madness.
I only see the 7 day Capitec bundles are cheaper, the rest are either more or the same?

"obile package prices range from R99 for 5GB to R399 for 80GB"

When i travel to Mozambique i get a 5G sim with 16GB on it for R134 lol. MTN has 20x the size and bandwidth, something isn't right lol.

When I clicked through to order the home internet package, it shows you can use your own router.
Interesting, they also support LTE only routers such as the Huawei B618s-22d

This sounds exactly like what I need as fibre has become elitist and it's Telkom's fault.

Sign-up process is very slick.

Up and running in 10 minutes, including RICA processing.

Contradiction in the article vs. the Pi Website:

"The Home Internet package is not locked to a specific location. For example, subscribers can take their router if they go on holiday and use their connection anywhere MTN has coverage."

The app is a web wrapper, so you can do everything you want with it through your browser of choice.
