If Twitch can't keep up a South Korea node, South Africa is probably never going to happen.
I assume you've heard about the SK node being shut down.

It's more than that, all South Korean affiliates and partners are being offboarded next year.

This is based off of exactly zero research on my part but I'm assuming South Korea has crazy peering fees and things between ISPs etc and that is why it's so expensive.

We are far away from everything but I don't think people realise how good our internet here actually is.
 
Apologies for the necro, but I'm finding the same issue with the twitch afrihost relays where you can stream to them but it never gets sent on to twitch. Any chance of a fix?

Should be fixed now.


You can use any of the below. The relay will push it to the selected Twitch Ingest server.

EU West Amsterdam: rtmp://fwd.afrihost.com/live-ams.twitch.tv
EU West London: rtmp://fwd.afrihost.com/live-lhr.twitch.tv
EU Central Frankfurt: rtmp://fwd.afrihost.com/live-fra.twitch.tv
EU Paris: rtmp://fwd.afrihost.com/live-cdg.twitch.tv

Thank you for the help - it did start working again, but only intermittently, and unfortunately it seems to have been down for the last week+. Is there an easier way to check whether the relays are working than just trying to start stream and waiting?

Try the London relay

Seems the connection to these ingest servers are not so great. Checking what we can do to fix that if anything.

Marseille might be the best
