Rain and storm for Cpt pt 2

Well, she did not arrive quietly that's for sure....

I'm not sure what happened out your side, but in Kenilworth this has been underwhelming (so far). It is rather cold this morning, but the wind and rain has mostly stopped. Showers are likely throughout the day, with snow over the high mountains. Tomorrow (Mon 11th) looks like a whole different story, if (big IF) the deepenimg low develops as predicted. There is no sign of anything (yet) on the midnight ship synoptic chart.

Just checked, had 12mm of rain overnight here in Boston. And just started raining again after I emptied the meter.

Meanwhile up here at the tail end of the Front, around 03Hoo, the power went off, the wind howled with great gusto from the North West and the darkened skies opened forth ....

Our average mean is 21mm, well it looked like it all arrived between 03H00 and 06H00..... So nice to get water in the desert, although our wee town is not designed for it...

One observation, being it seems a lot warmer after the passing of the front, usually it is followed with a rapid decline in air temp....

It arrived as predicted, heavy rain strong winds that woke me up.. However, an hour later I was awakened by the sound of silence.. No more wind and no more rain.. Also not had the continuous down pour at all, just intermittent showers..

Very underwhelming also in southern suburbs CPT. About 19mm of rain overnight. Not the stormy conditions we were promised. Now sunny with some clouds.

The sun has been out for the last hour here, but I see some rather big clouds moving in now from Table Bay.

That was the first front. There is currently a gap in the weather (some sunshine too), but there will be further wind and showera this afternoon. The freezing level will drop further, producing snow at relatively low elevations (about 1200m). Tomorrow (Mon 11th) will be lots of rain, but less snow. See:

Oh my gosh, in 13 minutes since I made the post, it is now pouring down with rain with lots of wind. Changed in the blink of an eye!

Sounds just like expected:
"Showery weather is defined as weather characterized by intermittent, often short-lived bursts of rain, rather than continuous precipitation. It indicates frequent, scattered showers, meaning it will likely rain on and off with potential sunny or dry breaks in between, rather than raining all day."

That's weird, it was all sunny and clear, I was thinking about doing some washing and now it’s p1ssing with rain.
