RAIN Worst Service company ever, avoid them like the plague lol

LoL.

RAIN == Garbage

Every time.

I see anyone praising RAIN these days, I assume they're connected to the disaster somehow.

I'm somewhat still happy with my 5G premium service I been running for years.

Speeeds are solid.

The 5G towers are too far from one another to offer a continuous service
Beyond 250m from a tower, the signal all but disappears
Prospective clients need to do their homework instead of expressing buyers remorse dressed up as a complaint

I find it truly amazing that people sign up for Rain without visiting this forum but are then very quick to complain here.

Caveat emptor

It happens. I ignored the comments. I got Rain 5G and it was the best 2 year internet experience I've ever had. Always got the max speed (up AND down) at all times of the day and excellent international latency. At the time (2022) it was not only the cheapest 5G, but there was zero FUP. The cherry on the cake? Two free 4G sim cards with 2GB each every month. Never had to even have airtime on my phone anymore because it was enough for VoLTE calls.

Then suddenly overnight one day the speed dropped to about 5mbit in the evenings. Then it progressed to 5mbit by 12PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Gave them months to fix it before finally cancelling. Did you know they completely ignore fault reports on their site? Truely amazing.

The thing is, RAIN's service that I had was fine - when I had the 30Mbps i got that speed always, same when I upgraded to 60 and 100 so the technology seems to be sound. But their customer service, business processes and cancellation are an absolute dumpster fire.

You're one of the fortunate I guess. A friend works for a small company in Hennopspark in Centurion. They've given up on their Rain business connection as it was too erratic to use - they had to use an MTN mobile connection as fall-back but it became too expensive. OpenServe came to their rescue.

That's a cop-out, most people only become aware of other complaints and similar issues after they resort to pleading for help and advice and finding others in the same boat via a forum like this - a company must deliver what they promise, at least to the best of their ability. I for one am currently going through a bad buying experience with GeeWiz, was the onus on me to first spend weeks on a forum before making a purchase with a company that promises a good service?
Just check your bank statements after buying online from Geewiz. I believe their back end is compromised. Every time I used their online store, a day later I have multiple fraudulent transactions on my card. The ignored my concerns off course

I've had problems with rain for over two months now. I keep getting disconnections so they swapped my router as they were adamant that my router was the problem. Router swapped and still experiencing the same bloody thing. Yet they won't send a technician out to service the tower and they keep asking me the same thing. Im in the process of looking for another ISP.

@Flusky: Do you seriously believe Rain has technicians?

The product starts out as functional then becomes non-functional and RAIN's support is effectively "You need to move the router to a magical location now because the towers have all moved or something equally BS".

You imagine folks don't "do their homework"? Excellent pro-tip stuff right there.

Rain will be after you man... If something too gud to be true never post anything good about it... Or your location tower will be compromised. That's why rain has a dedicated forum page for Speedtest loool from happy clients praising rain to "i don't know what happened but my network speed were good before now i can't voice call on WhatsApp"
