Just walked out of a MTN store to convert my physical SIM to an ESim . Am on contract.

Didn't have my ID, so that stopped it but the person said switching to e-sims will cost an extra 30pm?

Is this true? If so what type of bull **** is this ??

Good day Sir

For your information it is Horse ****.

Kind rearguards

MTN doing what MTN does best...............rip people off.
Yip, I was surprised. Happy to pay a once of fee, but monthly and I asked her, every month, she said yes. I had specified I wanted to convert my physical sim to e-sim. Left fuming saying now we know why these telecom CEO's earn the megabucks they do.

This is my experience in the other countries
In UK = free - done online
In France, cost = 10 Euros - done online

I'm using eSIMs on two different accounts for no extra fee.

EDIT: I think there is actually an additional charge if you want 2 SIMs on one line. So if you want an eSIM in addition to your physical SIM, then there's a monthly fee.

I did mine on the MTN app. Also just confirmed on my latest statement - no additional charge.

My identity could not be verified

Go to a store

Isn’t that only if you want an eSIM secondary to your main sim with the same number?

Like when you want to use it on your Watch etc.

Otherwise never heard of it cost anything.

But also like others have said…the whole point is not needing a store you do to all online or with an app.
