The software brains behind Takealot Fulfilment, The Courier Guy and Fastway

Pretoria-based Shiplogic might not be a familiar name to most South Africans, but those who frequently shop online have likely benefitted from the company's technology without knowing it.

Shiplogic's Transport Management System (TMS) is used by more than 25 courier companies, delivering over 3 million packages across South Africa each month.

ah so these the guys that does that system nice

when Courier guy moved over to that things flowed so much better. Now i use Bobgo (it has more than 9 staff though im sure ive spoken to 12 + different people that side

Can def vouch this system of theirs made work flow easier to perform when it comes to booking couriers.

I knew a old family friend who did software for bookings at hotels....I think it was airbnb or bookings.com or something that approached him and he declined it. I bet he kicked himself in the foot for that.

"Shiplogic’s newest major customer is Fastway, which signed up to the platform in March 2026. "
Hopefully that will improve the sht show that Fastway currently is.
I avoid fastway ...they not exactly fast..

And now one oke with claude subscription can build all of that in a week
sure... then why does one oke not do said task?

I don’t think that is ever going to possible. I have never understood why anyone would use them out of choice - and yet somehow they have managed to partner with many of the big international online platforms…. Which obviously sucks for all of us.

My latest package that is being handled by them sat stuck in their warehouse for nearly a week because SARS had requested extra paperwork - but they never bothered to actually ask me for it.

When I finally realised what was going on, it took me half a day trying to get hold of them (they do not answer their phones, ever, nor their WhatsApp). Eventually I sent a friend to their JHB depo to make some noise on Friday afternoon. They then immediately knew what the issue was, and once I sent the paperwork, SARS could clear the package within minutes.

But, since they don’t do linehauls over weekends (what kind of decent logistics company has no linehaul on weekends), the package only left JHB today, and I have been told it up to 4 days for a truck from JHB to reach Cape Town - so they clearly use the worlds slowest trucks as well.

I always get very annoyed when I realise an international company uses fastway this side! Why can’t everyone just use DHL and TCG, then life will be good.
