Amazon Prime launched for R59 per month in SA

Amazon.co.za has launched its Amazon Prime subscription in South Africa, offering free and fast delivery, video streaming, and cloud gaming for R59 per month or R399 per year.

Amazon Sub-Saharan Africa managing director, Robert Koen, said the company was thrilled to offer South African customers world-class shopping and entertainment benefits in a single membership.

I am hoping that they improve their range of groceries so that I can start doing weekly deliveries like I currently do with UberEats.

Getting screwed for getting something for R20 cheaper and getting more stuff in the process as well. Am I missing something?
 
I got free for life Prime video from Vodacom last year and it works great, only issue is it has ads which you need to pay extra to upgrade to get rid of them. So I wonder if this will have ads in the included streaming and how much to upgrade?

Does Prime Video offer live sports?
 
Seems very cheap, hopefully Netflix / Dinsey also reduces their pricing although I doubt it.
 
I'm also a Prime Video subscriber.

I just signed up for the R399 per year option and they immediately charged it, but also immediately refunded my R79 for this month.

Edit: I just received an email that Prime Video is cancelled and then a welcome email to full Amazon Prime. Video still works.

I'm also subscribed to Prime Video. I just started my 30 day trial of Prime, and I received a "subscription cancelled" email for the Prime Video. But I just checked on my phone and I can still play videos on the Prime app. So looks like it just cancelled the old, continue with the new.

Did you make the chamge in your primevkdeo account as i dont see any options here to sign up for the R59 deal.

Any sign of adverts in Prime Video? I would switch as long as it remains the ad free version of Prime Video
