Amazon Prime launched for R59 per month in SA

I'm also a Prime Video subscriber.

I just signed up for the R399 per year option and they immediately charged it, but also immediately refunded my R79 for this month.

Edit: I just received an email that Prime Video is cancel and the a welcome email to full Amazon Prime. Video still works.

Me too. Had my sub through Apple and it was cancelled automatically as I took up the Prime sub.

Hmm, I'm already subscribed to Amazon Prime Video. I would like to switch to the yearly subscription. I hope they let us know what the process is for that.

I didn't even get an email about Prime in South Africa.

I signed up for the annual prime membership now.. 5 minutes later got an email that my prime video membership has been cancelled..

Seems as simple as signing up for Prime..

Not on the plan I have which was a freebie with ads. And tbf my account is my UK Amazon account and I get British ads, so not sure about what changes to the plans there are here.

Yes you'll get two emails. One for prime, and the other telling you that prime video was cancelled.

signed up this morning and then got a R79 refund sms which i assume was from amazon. was just chatting yesterday to a support guy about my order from sunday that was cancelled (turned out to be because of my bank card that expired end of may). was a bit grumpy that the whole order was now R100 more and he told me that prime will be launching soon and lots of things will be cheaper. figured it will probably happen around prime day, so just reordered everything. didn't know it would be the next day.
