We tested Amazon Prime in South Africa

I tested Amazon Prime following its launch in South Africa, and it worked perfectly. Prime allowed me to select free same-day delivery for an order, and it arrived within six hours.

Amazon launched its Prime subscription service in South Africa on the morning of 3 June, offering local customers free deliveries and exclusive discounts on the Amazon.co.za marketplace.

Congratulations on the successful results of your test oo how to waste your own time...

"I took the 30-day trial and signed up for the annual subscription, which worked out to an average of R33.25 per month."

Simultaneously, so how does billing work then? Free trial, afterwards R59 per month, annual subscription R399 paid for, cancels R59, get the extra month before the annual 12 month period starts?

Because I want to wait 6 hours for a garden hose rather than climb in my car and drive down to the local Leroy Merlin, Game, PNP or what ever place which is like 15 mins from where I live.

I think, for the annual plan at least, it might be a money back type deal.. I was immediately charged the full 399 for the annual plan when I signed up..

Hmm I wasn't charged immediately. I was under the impression that you sign up for a 30 day free trial choose your package i.e R399 annual once the 30 days is up you're billed R399 or if you choose to cancel before the 30 days you just move on.

Your card gets charged when the trial ends. You can choose between the monthly and annual plans at any time.

Why didn't you get the free month like everyone else?

I've seen packages delivered at 18:30. How do you choose your address then, because until 17:00 I'm at work and from 17:30 I'm at home?

I chose the annual plan from the get go.. When I look at my membership, it doesn't state anything about the 30 day free trail..

I'm not fussed though, saves me on the Prime video subscription, so have no intention on cancelling..

great - more kamikaze courier drivers on the road

My understanding as well regarding free trial, applicable for the monthly R59 option.
