The return of screwworm comes after the Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency, launched by the Trump administration, last year cut funding for a project dedicated to monitoring and containing New World screwworm in Central America.

The funding was axed days before the U.S. ended a temporary suspension of cattle imports from Mexico, meaning livestock was allowed to cross the border without any of the monitoring previously funded by the U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID).

Agriculture officials and cattle industry leaders raised alarm about the cuts at the time and, for the last several months, pleaded with the government to step in as they monitored screwworm infections moving north through Mexico—but they were ignored, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller told NBC News.

I know you're mocking the building but brutalist architecture is ugly (I'm not an artist). Look at some of our old government buildings.

All 3 are typical of what one would call propaganda.

1) Broadly speaking, California isn't the only state with gender-affirming benefits within their Medicaid programs for the indigent, including migrants.
2) The state doesn't hand out free solar panels to illegal immigrants as per his claim.
3) "Porn enhanced" in his post is meant to invoke maximum outrage. It has no meaning in journalism. California is not the only state to offer tablets to prisoners.

Yes, standard mainstream journalism in 2026. I largely agree with you. He's about as selective as CNN. I specifically said that the word "enhanced" is a reach.

Why do you conflate indigence with migrants? I keep being told that migrants are largely a net positive for the economy and that they are not a drain on the social systems in place.
