The result you posted said med-100 which is a hospital only plan. If the criteria in the search requires savings ( can't recall if it's one of the questions) then the positive result is incorrect if it's a hospital only plan. Not sure I follow?
i brought my mom on before all the hospital stuff i mentioned. That's a pretty high plan on momentum. I susoect you'll find besides a savings component, you likely had access to a ATB? That makes a big differance with Day to Day and specialist care.
I think @TheOracle is his alt accountWasn’t @BBSA the one creating these?
Most medical aids in SA treat anyone 21+ as an adult dependant and charge the adult rate (which is usually the same or very close to the main member rate). Over 80 doesn't normally change the monthly contribution further, it's the same adult rate. The main differences for older folks come in with late-joiner penalties (if they've never been on medical aid) or higher chronic risk, but the base pricing is the adult dependant rate.Does it need to cater for adult dependants over 80? Aren't they priced differently?
That can be nice. I've used the tool to create a shortlist and then when you download their brochure/PDF then you see that a lot of inclusions are on that plan. What we actually also need is something that can tell you the cheapest plans for all risks cover.
Because some of the entry level plans have exclusions or very low limits for implants/back surgery/cancer etc which in my mind makes them pointless. I don't mind using network hospitals or similar but I do want full coverage for all medical procedures.
I will investigate and see if it is feasible. What we actually also need is something that can tell you the cheapest plans for all risks cover.

A friend of mine has been with them for decades without any problems.Anyone on Bonitas? Seems too cheap, what’s the catch?
No plan really has all risks. All have some form of caps or limits, even the very expensive ones. Brokers are supposed to know that but most I've engaged with just point to the brochures and the main concerns ie: which hospital/dsps, how much % cover and MSA/ATB.What we actually also need is something that can tell you the cheapest plans for all risks cover.

Been on Bonitas Bonave since 2009 to date, I do the screening checks done in January , unlock the 5000 benefit booster since introduced and use that in the year allowing my savings which adds to my accumulated savings for the next year and rinse & repeat.Anyone on Bonitas? Seems too cheap, what’s the catch?
Thanks, will put it on my to-do list.Would be nice if at the end you could enter the plan you're currently on and compare to the suggestions.

Bonitas blames Medscheme for medical scheme backlog
Members complain over unresolved queries and delays after switch from Medschemewww.businessday.co.za
Members of Bonitas medical scheme are up in arms over unresolved
queries and hospital authorisations after it changed administrators
earlier this week.
Bonitas is South Africa's second-largest open scheme, with 750,000
beneficiaries, making the switch in administration companies the
biggest the industry has seen yet.
Bonitas has blamed its members' woes on its previous administrator,
Medscheme, which in turn has pointed the finger at the new service
providers, Momentum...
