Rain and storm for Cpt pt 2

Another moderate intensity cutoff-low along the Garden Route and Eastern Cape coast over the next few days, bringing some heavy rain, cold temperatures, and snow over the high mountains:

A Black South Easter in Cape Town. A few drops of rain reaching the surface...

Cut off low moved a bit more east and offshore.
SAWS 24 hr rainfall highs for 4/6/2026:
121mm - GEORGE WITFONTEIN (WC) - approx 100mm in most of the southern mountain range
115mm - PORT ALFRED - AIRPORT (EC) - 102 EL too

Some weather stations seem to be offline - Stormsriver etc

Cumulative rainfall figures for the 48 hours to 8am on Thurs 4th are quite substantial:
GEORGE WITFONTEIN 67+121=188mm, MOSSELBAY-ROBINSON PASS ARS 57+95=152mm, GEORGE JONKERSHOEK ARS 45+97=142mm, STORMRIVER FOREST FERN FARM ARS 94+missing data, etc.

Except for the storms though... but yes, there does seem to be less regular rain and so its not as cold.

We started today with a heavy fog but its burned off now and its great
