Lithium mining activity buzzing in KZN

KwaZulu-Natal is set to benefit from the prospecting and exploration for lithium, a metal nicknamed "white gold" due to its high value in renewable energy and electric vehicle (EV) industries.

South Africa has often been positioned as a major potential player in the growing battery manufacturing supply chain.

They're fscking up the South Coast road near Shepstone at a rate of knots with trucks. They had a perfectly working railway line right there, but no, that has returned to the bush.

Good luck mining the rural coastal regions of KZN. RBM has been mining titanium ore there and several people associated with the mine have been murdered, including a general manager. The mine pays a BEE allowance to the local tribes. The problem is that there are disagreements over who has the authority to receive the money, and they have been playing rough with the mine. The procurement mafias there are also intense. The mine has now stopped it's expansion programme.
