56% of police stations in South Africa do not answer their phones

i went to Sandringham SAPS to report a car accident . there was nobody else there besides for me and 1 cop looking at paperwork . he looked up at me and said nothing . continued his paperwork . this carried on for a good 5 minutes . i just stood there because all the 3 available chairs were broken . eventually other people came in and he started shouting for his colleagues to come help .

finally someone attended to me and gave me the AR form to fill in so i asked for a pen . they said we dont have any spare pens . i had to leave and drive to a nearby shopping centre to borrow a pen .

Had to go report incident , had rock thrown at me at night time by our fellow countrymen, trying to get me to crash or stop so they could likely rob or murder me, dented the roof.

Arrive at police station the next day and kid you not, had to wait for the aunty behind the next with the typical African fat arse' , nails to dry before she could fill in a form for insurance.

There is one cop for every 420 south africans. How many of those cops don't do there work are criminals themself or are corrupt.
The UN bench mark is 1 cop for every 200 people.

You think if a criminal enter your home and you phone the SAPS you going to get a answer, get a quick response time?
in a emergency the saps response time can be between 15 and 56 minutes if they even show up.

Arm yourself and be proficient in handeling a firearm. In this country you can only rely on yourself.

lol is anyone surprised?

Has anyone here tried to call 10111 in the last 5 years? its a joke, when you eventually get through to someone they have the IQ of a potato.

Private security is also such a joke, reaction times are pathetic, your house will literally be empty by the time they arrive. If you don't believe me then press your panic and see how long they take to arrive, if you are lucky its 10 minutes, the average is more like 20 minutes or more, when they get there do not go out, do not be seen, they will have a casual look around and leave.

Not even nearly surprising.

A few years ago we were coming back from a wedding in JHB North. It was like midnight kind of thing when we passed Camaro and Xavier roads going south on the N12 towards Alberton. We saw 4 dudes dragging a guy around outside a BMW on the side of the highway... clearly some sort of altercation or very likely a highjacking.

Got on the phone to 10111... tried to get them to send cops.

"Where are you?"
"Traveling from west to east on the N12, the incident is happening on the side of the road just before Xavier road turn off".
"What area is that?"
"Close to Alberton"
"We don't know"

Had cops hanging up on me. Phoned back a couple of times. Had them repeatedly ask which area, or demand I figure out which is the closest cop shop. I eventually shouted at one of them "SOMEONE IS PROBABLY GETTING KILLED DO YOU HAVE A MAP!?"
"Yes"
"So look on the map, find the N12, it's a moerse road that goes around JHB, follow it round until the bottom and find Xavier road"
"Don't tell me how to do my job"

Ja, do test your security company response time....I put this to the test last week and was pretty shocked at how long it took.

Why don't whoever do audits, go to the police station, park then call the police station and see if they answer or not.

If not, they go inside and call again and see what the story is.

Do cops even get warnings and kak for not doing what they are paid to do?
