I love my Forester. My wife loves my Forester, but we are looking at an EV/Hybrid for her. So....

Which one to buy

There is no other option but going for a post-2021 Forester 2.5i-Sport ES or the flagship 2.5i-S ES. The smaller, 2.0-litre engine simply has to work too hard to overcome the vehicle’s 1.6-tonne kerb weight and the mechanical drag of the permanent all-wheel-drive system, especially at altitude. Securing an ES designated model is non-negotiable; the EyeSight active safety suite remains one of the most effective and reliable crash-mitigation systems on the market.

My Scooby's eyesight system saved a life two weeks ago. The knob walked out behind a taxi into my lane as I was going around 40kmph. Between the car screaming and auto braking, and me also slamming on the brakes, I managed to come to a standstill maybe half a metre from him. He just looked at me and casually walked away.
