I don't think the price is unreasonable considering you'll likely get 100+ hours entertainment out of it. At R 1,499, that's R 14.99/hour (or less). I can't think of much in the form of entertainment other than watching movies/series/YouTube which is cheaper. Going to the movies is R 150/hour or thereabouts. Even drinking is R 30-200/hour depending on where, what, and how quickly you drink![]()
I don't think it is a bad price, but digital pricing isn't scaling well in our market that is considered an emerging economy. Our regional scale is not in balance. There are already newly announced games that are more expensive than this. Games, like all media, are entertainment that is consumed. I have placed some pricing across the board on a graph, it is not looking swell. GTA I consider anomoly since I would have thought it to be higher priced, but then again, I think the price has been decided prior to the previous release date.
It is not only us, it includes Europe, the UK... us though, we aren't in the same class, yet, we are treated like them.
The Americans are spoiled though. Their bracket suits their purchasing power, and it so happens to be the level against which all currencies are measured against.
