With Ramaphosa cabinet shuffle we almost say "good riddance to bad rubbish" although Steenhuisen will still be around to leave a bad taste in ones mouth for the forseeable future unfortunately.

How does he think this will end for him ?

Does he think he can get a spot at the ANC ? Does he think he can start a new party ? or does he think the DA will move him back up the ladder to keep him quiet ?

This is just such poor strategy.

Steenhuisen claims he was promised that if he stepped down as leader of the DA, he would remain as Agriculture Minister to finish his work against FMD.

“The deal was that I would stand down as leader, but that I would remain on as Minister of Agriculture. A word was given, and a word was broken,” he said.

He confirmed that Hill-Lewis was part of the deal and that he had backtracked on his promise to keep him on as Minister.

He really does want to burn those bridges.

“There is a grouping in the DA that wants to bend the knee continuously to appease the AfriMAGA crew,” he said.
