I have not seen this mentioned in any of my insurance policies.
Well they all do say you require a valid drivers license if you're the driver of said vehicle yes. AARTO can remove the validity of that license, unlike the card expiring.

I'm wondering how our business has a driver's license? Plenty of vehicles on that policy.

Yes you can't drive without a license but you sure as hell can insure a vehicle without a driver's license.

Yup indeed, I don't know if it will effect the premiums, but it might have some excess or something you'd need to pay if in an accident.
I mean you can buy a car without a drivers license, not on finance obviously.

That also makes no sense. Why would it matter whether you have a license or not? Buying a car does not mean you are the one using it. Idiotic policy.

“We’re looking at over 2,000 accidents a day on roads where an estimated 65% to 70% of vehicles aren’t insured, according to data from the Automobile Association (AA) and the South African Insurance Association,”

Cause people will moan, why must they pay for others risk, they only drive 5km a week.

AI argues that SA people are too poor and enforcement is impossible.

If you can afford to drive a car you can buy 3rd party insurance. I reject any possible argument against that.

Enforcement affects everything including an actual driver's licence.

But it's a scam, why should people who only drive 5km a week have to pay? They are less of a risk

70% of road users dont have insurance currently.

I had a new BMW X3 plough into my car. Guy claimed no insurance, and mine ended up paying for mine. They raised my premium by 3x.

Yet his BMW X3 was fixed 2 weeks later.

Then I found out he had signed up with my insurance provider as part of the deal, for them not pursuing him. I have since moved to another provider.
