All 259 bank branches where you can get a smart ID in South Africa

South Africans can apply for smart ID cards at 259 bank branches in July 2026, as the Department of Home Affairs' partnership with banks continues to expand.

The latest official figure from the department indicated that 252 bank branches nationwide supported smart ID applications.
