He's got plenty of time to spout bs while waiting 3 days in line for 20l of fuel. What else is there to do in Russia right now hehe

Will be interesting to see how this impacts fertilizer prices in SA now. SA is a direct importer. Still find it strange that there is a fuel shortage regardless of refinery hits. After reading russian sources it seems more like a fuel distribution problem than actual shortage though. Which is still odd. They can't be using soo much petrol and diesel for war and they have massive reserves.

I think fertilizer is a next year/next planting season problem to be honest, the more pressing immediate impact is the price of grain globally, and what that is going to do to the poorest of the poor who rely on that for food in ways that the others don't.

SA is likely to be shielded to some level since I think we can be largely self-sufficient, but time will tell.

That makes a lot of sense. They may have diverted logistics towards the war effort, starving the regions outside major centres. Or perhaps they're selling majority of their output to help finance the war and lessen impact on their forex reserves? If they are, they can't be selling all to India and China though.
