Facebook restricting and banning accounts in South Africa with no clear reasons

Facebook and WhatsApp owner Meta Platforms has come under increased scrutiny over its vague rules for supposed violations that lead to account restrictions and bans, including in South Africa.

Over the past few weeks, MyBroadband has observed numerous user reports across various online platforms alleging the social media giant is seemingly restricting or banning accounts at random.
 
Been struggling to get a WhatsApp number on Cell C verified. It's been 2 weeks and still stuck in a loop where it won't initiate a call nor send a SMS.

When cell C's involved it is difficult to know where the problem lies, although, I have some ideas.
 
Restrictions perhaps due to a Richard picture years ago. These things take time to catch up. Maybe with AI they will warn you while in draft and well before you hit post. First world problems.
 
There are so many scammers and hustlers on Market Place and when you report it nothing happens. They should go after them with zero tolerance
 
The Facebook bot even randomly scans posts/pics you may have done decades ago and then decides they are violating some arcane rule and then bans your account. It’s a total sht show, I feel sorry for people that have built massive groups or run business pages on Meta platforms and then bam locked out for no reason. Theres no recourse, even having Meta verified doesn't help much
