IRAN WAR: You can't lose, if you don't have a goal

And Iran produces cheap oil and now know that they control the free flow of much of the world's oil, apparently :whistling: There is a reason their petrol is R0.48 per litre while everyone else is paying through their noses.

More delusional nonsense from the Iranian regime supporter.

Apparently 20% is equivalent to 50% + 1.

Did you fail English in school? Define "much" for me please...

The conflict has triggered the largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market, with shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which normally carries around 20% of global oil consumption

Iran's petrol is cheap because of large government subsidies and price controls, not Iran’s supposed control over international oil traffic.

Iran dragged this out way too long. The good will they had with people being anti Israel and Israel starting this and dragging the USA into it is all gone.

The trump team now seems like the sensible ones willing to negotiate. And Iran is just going to get completely recked for starting this up again.

Trump is incompetent and Iran dont really want peace either. Or want peace on their terms, which I guess is fair, everyone will want peace on their own terms.

Trump is an imbecile.

Iran don't want peace. They want to reserve the right to attack Israel - directly or by proxy - and just about anybody else in their sphere, while enforcing control of the Strait through force.

Yes, Trump gave them this ''power'' by blundering into this mess in the first place, but Iran do not want peace. A country run by a religiously fanatical military junta is not exactly one you associate with peace.

I don't think anyone disagrees with that. The issue is Israel seems to get a free pass for exactly the same behaviour. Worse in fact - I don't recall Iran completely razing a place to rubble like what they did to Gaza. Hamas is just the excuse to do what they've been itching to do forever. Same with southern Lebanon. All part of the greater Israel kak.

So yes Iran is schit, Israel is also schit. People need to start calling out the latter, everyone already knows about the former. Saying that one is schit doesn't mean you support the other. The mentality of people who think this is like that of a 5 year old, so consumed by which side they've taken, that they are incapable of thinking like an adult...

I'll start caring after there are protests for the 400 000 deaths from war in Sudan:

or the 800 000 deaths from war in Ethiopia:

this forum is peppered with smoothe brained imbeciles unable to draw that distiction

I'm not going to get into a discussion where Iran's proxies are involved. Nobody, with a straight face, can tell me Hamas cares about Palestinians and Hezbollah has the best interests of Lebanon at heart. The Lebanese government has shown eagerness to work with Israel, so that tells you all you need to know about Hezbollah. The Houthis are another bunch of lunatics.

Saying that, I have always been critical of Israel's actions in the West Bank, and you will find previous comments on this in this thread and in others. They should have withdrawn from those settlements a long time ago. They shouldn't have even started with the encroachment in the first place. What they have done in Gaza is beyond excessive, even if they have a legitimate cause to eliminate Hamas. The Lebanon situation I touched on above.

Iran and Israel will never coexist so long as Iran follows its current military and political paths and has Israel ringed by their proxies. Israel will never take a passive approach as things stand because for them this is existential. Iran uses Palestinians, Yemenis and the Lebanese people to fuel a fire they hope will ultimately consume Israel, and organisations such as Hamas and Hezbollah are complicit in expending their own people in pursuit of the same goal.

I just think they're more alike than anyone on either side would like to admit.

Israel were kept in check and exercised restraint to maintain their relationship with western allies. With all that gone, this war has exposed what they're truly capable of when left to run wild. And they are no different to any other extremists in that region...
