Disney+ launching new app and a R49-per-month subscription in South Africa

You've been able to watch on large screens for quite sometime, unless that is the R49 option, cause yeah it launced in 2022 at R119 and now it's R179?? Getting a bit pricey.

Is this perhaps why the Disney App vanished from my mom's Hisense TV running Viida? I also have a Hisense TV, but I use a Xiaomi TV Box, and mine is still there.

They're just gonna forget everyone's watch history? That will cause absolute chaos rofl. My family has built up a massive history dipping in and out of all 37 seasons of The Simpsons. Oh the humanity.

I will not buy Hisense branded toilet paper, all thanks to that marvel of technology, Vidaa.

I was also surprised by that. I would be really unhappy if I was a subscriber.

Hey it's worth it, you should try it out. Premium movies soon after they.release, lots of family favourite series ... overall spend more time as a family in it than Netflix. If the new app makes the embedded ESPN content even better, it's going to be worth the short-term pain.

I signed up for Disney+ back when it launched in SA. It does have good content, The issue is that I can't justify paying for Netflix, Amazon and Disney simultaneously.

Same. I dropped Amazon after a trial. Do you have anything on there that makes it worth it for you?

Amazon is R400 pa included with local Prime which makes sense given the price of consumables like coffee, toilet paper and washing powder or pet food are quite cheap very often on Amazon and delivery is now free for any order. Like here 200g Nescafe Gold for R104.30 each.

Call me old-fashioned but I actually enjoy walking through Checkers with my family and picking groceries. Ordering grocery stuff on Amazon ... there's no fun in that.

Cheaper than Checkers and supermarkets don't have "8" only regular 6 or 7. To each their own.

With amazon prime for R400 per year you also get all these games for free:

Instant coffee tastes like cat piss.

I've never had cat piss, so I can't share your personal opinion. But no, instant coffee is very good.

I'm more than happy with it, especially those finely ground types - eg Nescafe espresso blend and there is also a Jacobs one, not sold in SA. Starbucks Via instant tastes like filter coffee.
