Most of mine have come with cable for failover and some even had the adapter for planes in the box.

Earbuds are obviously a different story.

Very little, as you discover when your luggage goes somewhere else. My hand luggage is always on the minimal side - laptop, phone, chargers, wallet. You can do surprisingly well with very little.
