US Politics: Full Transp██████

A WSJ journalist entered the weird world of the Democratic Socialists of America. Well, it is as terrifying as expected and just confirms my views that DSA members are anti-American and would have loved nothing more than to have seen the USSR succeed. In other words, they'd be considered traitors under Cold War conditions - and rightly so.

It’s summertime for socialism. In June’s primary elections, candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America swept to victory, claiming primary wins in three of this city’s safe Democratic congressional districts.

How did they do it? To find out, I spent the last month soaking up the “warmth of collectivism” by cramming as many DSA events as possible into my schedule: Coffee with Comrades, a Socialism 101 course, a new-members social, a book club and even a hootenanny. The DSA also hosts board game nights, running clubs, World Cup watch parties, a softball league and birding trips.

The DSA is “of the opinion that we should just use the Democratic Party ballot line, but we should build up our own party,” an instructor informed me at Socialism 101, the gateway seminar for new DSA members. Once DSA-endorsed candidates are elected, the organization’s members “are the ones that they are responsible to, and they are going to fight for socialism in office and not just f— off to the Democratic Party and start ignoring us.”

“We believe very strongly in one-person, one-vote principles, so things like abolishing the United States Senate and the electoral college,” the facilitator told an audience of apparatchiks-in-training at the DSA’s headquarters on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. “Another important aspect of socialism is that generally we consider ourselves to be Marxists.”

This sentiment was echoed in song at the hootenanny: “It’s the final conflict / Let each take their place / The international working class / Shall free the human race.” This tune, “L’Internationale,” was the Soviet Union’s national anthem for much of Stalin’s tyranny. The DSA choir also belted out a rendition of the Civil Rights Movement spiritual “We Shall Not Be Moved,” modernizing it with the following verses: “From the river to the sea forever . . . Trans rights forever . . . Knicks in five forever.”

So now he is posting typical communist saying

The whole administration is behaving like some kind of 1984. Slogans all over the place and marching orders from the top. They must just enact the goose steps and get it over with. I wonder what the big speech will be about. Elections are the theme apparently.
