New BEE tax for South African businesses proposed

3% revenue... So if the business i work for is not making a profit and is manking an annual loss but the revenue is R450mil they need to pay 3% of that and make further losses... So just take on another R13.5mil loss...

Nice... This country is so screwed
 
Last year, Knott-Craig, who founded Herotel and Fibretime, submitted a new BEE plan to South Africa’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Parks Tau.

His proposal is for companies to pay a 3% levy on revenue, which, in turn, will provide them with a Level 3 B-BBEE certificate.

If you read it. Its not bad. However, the tax should be profit based.

It basically removes the need for BBE audits, checks and requirements with just a tax.

Companies no longer need to hire people on colour, removes barriers. and simplifies the whole process.
