US Politics: Full Transp██████

I'm referring to Biden era finger wagging regarding a trade and security pact made with China.

Ok, so on the face of it, Solomon Islands is a country that nobody really worry about from an economic point of view. But it's location suggests it has strategic military value. From the Wikipedia page:

During World War II, the Solomon Islands campaign (1942–1945) saw fierce fighting between the United States, British Imperial forces, and the Empire of Japan, including the Battle of Guadalcanal.

It also relies on aid from Western-aligned donors, who would naturally be displeased if Solomon Islands became a vassal state of China:

The Solomon Islands Government was insolvent by 2002. Since the RAMSI intervention in 2003, the government has recast its budget. Principal aid donors are Australia, New Zealand, the European Union, Japan, and Taiwan.

Same with Libya in the Mediterranean. China doesn't have influence in that region.
