Rectron's is a masterpiece compared to Axiz.I hope they redo their rectronzone website while they are at it. Its very hard to search for stuff on there.

They actually closed early on Thursday morning, not Friday.
Most staff had left the Midrand branch by midday on Thursday and were told not to come in on Friday "for security reasons." Staff are expecting to receive an update either over the weekend (nearly over) or early next week.
I just received an update, they will be closed tomorrow. Staff still don't officially know why.
Cause they cant from what i can tell them coms are down nothing is communicating.Still closed with no update given today. IMO, they are handling the situation very poorly. Not communicating with their customers at all.
never had issues there. the descriptions maybe a issue for me but even their images suck in generalI hope they redo their rectronzone website while they are at it. Its very hard to search for stuff on there.
Everything is rumour at this stage. It’s probably best not to speculate. What rumours are going around about what has actually happened, a ransomware attack?
It works extremely well IF you learn their stock code convention. There’s no need to know SKUs off the top of your head as their code convention is actually quite logical.if you think rectron search was bad look at frontosa
ja no i never have issues as i tell clients SKU doesnt lie (unless you frontosa and kingston or HDD's that side) do wish kaira would put a prefix on theirs especially the ones with 4-5 digits conflics with steelseries and port.Everything is rumour at this stage. It’s probably best not to speculate.

Fun fact, Rectron used to use the exact same type of codes back in the day when Victor was at Rectron, before he started Frontosa. Having been using such codes since I was barely a teen might count in my favour.
By the way - if you like being able to see whether other branches have stock, what’s new, what’s been recently stocked, being able to add a quantity on the search page, it now taking 24 hours before you get logged out, being able to sort by price or availability, and quite a bit more… You’re welcome. I’ve joked with Michael that I want to be credited by name. He’s extremely open to suggestions and has implemented most of my ideas other than those that have little benefit to pretty much anyone but me, or requires too much work to do anytime soon.

No one does like syntech which has the best layout etc just wish their images were not white.
if you think rectron search was bad look at frontosa or pinnacle.
Syntech's search function works great. The Rectron website is terrible in comparison.
Maybe I just have bad luck when I try to search their site. I have complained to them before about it, sometimes I would search for something specific and random unrelated stuff would come up.
Just use Corsair’s portal? They have more images than you could ever use, with everything from transparent backgrounds to full environments /shrugCorsair wise i see their images are easier to grab now than they were a few months back (always had to go into their source code for one and then i just map it and then use IDM to pull the rest) maybe the one thing slowing me down is images cause i need transparent so frontosa doing that (that ive noticed) helps a lot if i cant find it.
was refering to corsairs site yes. a while back first image can right click open image next tab but at somepoint you couldnt unless you got the source links now its easy.Just use Corsair’s portal? The rest I can’t comment on really. I only use search if I don’t know what I’m looking for.
One of my sources just gave me the copypasta usual:
Cyberattack - Sources close to the matter confirmed that a severe security breach compromised the distributor's primary network.
Ransomware Suspected - Although Rectron has not yet publicly confirmed a specific ransomware payload, the catastrophic nature of the outage—requiring complete isolation of regional networks and physical office closures—is consistent with emergency containment protocols used during active ransomware encryption attacks.
While I do symphatise with them - they kinda do deserve it...Ironic in a weird sense. They should know all about Hardening and Firewall / Cybersecurity protocols, being a Billion-Rand Tech/IT Distributor. Hiring a PROPER in-house Cyber-Security expert or former blackhat/whitehat with some help would hardly leave a massive dent in their turnover.
They prob left Port 22 Open![]()
makes sense with the no staff on premises.
but anyone can guess this.
and to say someone deserves it is a bit harsh. although ive laughed when their systems goes off and i ask them arent you the solution lol.
but still no one deserves it. Its also bread and butter for the staff and their families.
I'm being entirely cold and logical - if you don't prepare properly then you deserve the inevitable outcome -even more so for a corporate their size and considering their Turnover.
It sounds like you’re talking about their website, not their asset portal.was refering to corsairs site yes. a while back first image can right click open image next tab but at somepoint you couldnt unless you got the source links now its easy.
No one my end shared that with me.It sounds like you’re talking about their website, not their asset portal.
Oh jeez, I couldn't live without that. It has SKU sheets, product images with clear backgrounds (20-30 per product, per colour), environmental images, pre-made banners, videos, "enhanced imagery" (the images that say things like "Dual 360mm Radiator Support," etc).No one my end shared that with me.
So they still closed today and still in the Dark as to why or when they open again.

It's certainly bigger than that as their internal network is affected.Wonder if they never paid their bill lol
