Chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies, Khusela Diko, has said there is no technical reason for mobile data to expire in South Africa.

According to an SABC News report, Diko made the statement during a committee oversight visit to MTN's headquarters in Roodepoort on Monday, 27 July 2026.
