South African motorists could be paying R508 less per tank of petrol
Motorists in South Africa would pay up to R508 less per tank of fuel if the price did not include the Road Accident Fund (RAF) and the general fuel levy (GFL).
In October 2024, mineral and petroleum resources minister Gwede Mantashe said that motorists in the country should be paying around R14 per litre of fuel without these taxes.
