Years ago - around circa 2018 - we had a member on here expressing similar views as OP, but he had a much more negative outlook on life.

When we had one CT meet we invited the nigga to join us. Actually we invited him to two meets.

@Gordon_R I seem to recall the one meet was somewhere in the Southern Suburbs. It was only you and this guy who showed up; and just to clear my name, I said I'm not attending from the outset.

Somehow this guy didn't realise Gordon was also there so didn't bother showing up for the next event.

As time went by this guy's name started appearing in the" Has anybody seen this forumite" thread. Given his mental state, a few of us were getting worried.

The only thing we had was his phone number (which we got from organizing the get together).

No responses from WhatsApp or GSM calls, etc.

I'm not going into too much technical details, just know that not all of us on here are alter boys when it comes to our jobs, but there are genuinely good people on here.

His online tracks stopped dead in the sand and he never left the country.

So maybe you po3ste should use more tact when the situation asks for it.

@The_Ogre The OP is the same guy! I didn't want to 'out' him, but if you look at the name change history it checks out. He seems to have his ups and downs...

Edit: I did introduce myself to him (after an hour of waiting for you f@ckers to show up), and we did have a chat for half an hour. Never heard from him since then.

A forum like this is like the wild west. It's unfortunate some innocents get caught in the backwash but there's nothing that can be done, except for that person to realise their limitations if they're able to. The more troubled ones get too battered by life anyway.

Some grow from an experience like this. Not so different from office life in my experience.

It’s the internet, you have to approach it with a relative amount of disconnection.

That said, I don’t associate opinion and disagreement with friendship. I’m sure some people here would make great friends. Even though on this forum we disagree. I would rather a friend who challenges me than one who just says what I want to hear because they’re not bothered.
