Rain and storm for Cpt pt 2

I fill mine with municipal water 😁 considering they're incapable of keeping a consistent supply going

The CoCT has already passed a by-law regulating that:
During severe drought and critical water restrictions (such as Level 6 rules), filling large storage containers or backup tanks in advance with municipal drinking water to hoard supplies is illegal under the City of Cape Town Water By-law.

The CoCT has already passed a by-law regulating that:

I'm in CoJ unfortunately 😩 the nice thing there is if they expect us to have to deal with the consequences of their incompetence they've got another thing coming their way. CoCT can also get recked if a water crisis is self induced (again)

The last time I needed large quantities of water in CoCT during the 2018 restrictions I had it trucked in, worked like a charm!

Anybody in the CBD or Atlantic seaboard confirm a fire on Table Mt around Kloof Nek:

Edit: Definitely looks like a fire. Wind is not strong, but you can see the smoke plume:

There definitely was something. Went for a run on the mountain this morning and it must've just started after we had left.

Yeah, Kloof Corner Ridge is barely accessible in daytime, pretty much off-limits at night.

Edit: Seems a bit quieter now. There is very little vegetation on the higher cliffs, so the fire might burn itself out near the summit. Lower areas are more accessible from Tafelberg Road, so they may be able to contain that flank. I can't remember the most recent fires, but there are likely some areas that will not burn naturally.

P.S. The fire could be burning around the corner (Atlantic seaboard), not visible to the cameras on this side of the mountain.

Looks like the fire is out this morning. Very light winds overnight, probably helped damp it down. There is thick fog over Table Bay, so the Milnerton webcam doesn't show much.

Sometimes a better option than the distant webcams, but image only refreshes every 10 minutes 🫤
