Bargains... In this economy....

I bought my M5 512gb for R21999 from Incredible Connection, then 1 day later it changes to R26999Crazy how MacBook pricing has gone up, and how the crappy Neo is now earlier M2 territory.
I am happy with my neo.Crazy how MacBook pricing has gone up, and how the crappy Neo is now earlier M2 territory.
Why wouldn't they? Everything with RAM and ssd wouldCrazy how MacBook pricing has gone up, and how the crappy Neo is now earlier M2 territory.
No one said or believed they wouldn't. The point is that it's finally happened. And that it's taken almost a year for Mac pricing to be affected. This means the consumer loses out big time. It also brings Windows laptops back into the picture. Because at pre-increase Mac prices, 9 out of 10 times, buying Windows would be unwise, given that Macs are just so much better. Why wouldn't they? Everything with RAM and ssd would

Did anybody actually buy this? I'm pretty grumpy because it's a genuinely awesome deal, and is already all sold out. I knew Incredible did deep discounts on their demo laptops (I bought one for my son that way), but this promo seems to indicate they do the best retail specials on laptops in South Africa too (am I wrong?).View attachment 1927634

Well thechnically 8gb is obsolete imoNowadays 16GB of RAM is like gold in a discount section. Wonder how much time till the 8GB hardware is obsolete and can't sell anymore but the 16GB hardware is too expensive, nice storm where the market collapses.
Cached memory is commonly used processes stored in RAM for quicker access?Well thechnically 8gb is obsolete imo
Many are just in denial
fast nvme/ssd helps to soften the blow hide it
For day to day use
I prefer to have actual free memory not cached file filled ram that has to be swopped to hard drive to use it
Cache memory is orders of magnitude faster than the DRAM, yes, even the fancy DDR5.Cached memory is commonly used processes stored in RAM for quicker access?
Paged (virtual memory) is when you're system starts using hard drive/SSD as you've run out of real memory.
Cached memory is essentially free memory as it can quickly clear when more memory is required.
Anecdotally speaking they can do very good specials from time to time, stock however is extremely limited as I suppose it's usually some sort of clearance sale I assume. Got my Gigabyte RTX 3080 10GB that way 4 years ago, a friend got the 12GB model and was the last one in stock that they had at the time. I've bought quite a few things from IC on sale and it's always been the best price around when I bought.Did anybody actually buy this? Yes but if that commomly tasks has to be done again it has to be swopped out before it can happenCached memory is commonly used processes stored in RAM for quicker access?

For heavy multitaskers those files could be the window that hasn't been n focus so when you switch back to it
My focus has allways been SSD and enough ram
You always feel sorry for not buying enough never just enough
Now yes with prices now not as easy to justify
Am i sorry i bought 64gb ddr4 kits at 2599
And 48gb ddr5 at 3599
Not at all, if i did not different story
For me it has allways been about having the bottleneck where it needs to be or what you can afford
But yea with ram prices i suppose it has to be at the ram now
And yes they do notice the performance drop of if i downgrade them
Used his ram sticks to see if his moms problem gets solved with more ram ( i did not tell him he was downgraded to 32gb )
A few days later (ge is.n't a nagger
He asked dad can you have a look at my pc lately way more stutters
Now yes this is usage based not everybody is a 32gb is not enough user

Just imagine AI trying to decipher that on a daily basis. What you don't get, see, is he's actually insanely intelligent and just leaving out all punctuation to save tokens.
