That is entirely consistent with everything I have been posting in this thread. Not sure what you are complaining about:
1. Thursday morning cold front.
2. Sunday into Monday cold front transitioning into a widespread cutoff low.

Edit: The latest charts for the next 3 days, and 4-6 days, show both separate events very clearly:

Noted. The weekend event looks more like a cutoff low, CT may get close to zero rain (just the cold and wind).

Edit: It definitely rained earlier, plenty of streams, puddles, etc. Second time this year I have worn my gumboots.

Edit: The SAWS reports a few moderately heavy rainfall numbers for the 24 hours to 8am on Thurs 6th. Highest include Kirstenbosch 43mm, Molteno Reservoir (CBD) 31mm, Simonstown 26mm, Jonkershoek 22mm, Stellenbosch 22mm, Ceres 20mm, etc.

Another warm and mild "winter's day". Interestingly, my perennials, such as my pomegranate tree and chili plants are all springing back to life with plenty of new leaves and shoots, which usually happens around mid-September.

Table Mountain Aerial Cableway in Cape Town is scheduled to reopen on Monday, August 10, 2026, after completing its annual maintenance shutdown that began on July 27, 2026.

That was posted yesterday (Thurs 6th). The models have changed significantly since then. Still rain and snow in the southern half of SA, but much less in the central interior. The exact details are still not clear, and for a cutoff-low more than 3 days outlook is quite far ahead.

The outlook for CT itself is very modest, 3 day chart:

The preliminary cold-front is the weakest that I can recall, with hardly any wind, and just light drizzle starting around 4:30pm in Kenilworth (Sat 8th). What comes behind is the interesting part, with a cold-core upper trough likely to bring showers and light snow early tomorrow (Sun 9th). A cutoff-low is likely to develop over the interior on Mon 10th, with some interesting developments over the eastern half of SA through Tues 11th.

The current synoptic chart only shows surface conditions, with no hint as to further developments:

Typical Black South Easter conditions in CT, as the cut-off low evolves along the southern coast of SA. Very cold conditions will prevail, with a maximum of 13C predicted for CT, and light snow over the mountains further east. This webcam image shows the convective activity to the south of CT, but sunny conditions to the north:

The SAWS reports moderate amounts of rain along the southern Cape coast, but very little for CT itself, during the 24 hours to am on Sun 9th. Highest include George 25mm, Knysna 18mm, Mossel Bay 17mm, Swellendam 15mm, Hermanus 14mm, etc. Highest in the Cape Metropole was Cape Point with 7mm, even Kirstenbosch only had 6mm.
