The original horror of racism had very little to do with narrow-minded bias against a group on a superficial basis.

The horror was access to legal privilege where those who were/are good at hiding that bias could exercise it with impunity.

The real problem was never racism, but rather legal privilege.

To this day, the same people who make a case for legal privilege - or excuse others for making it - also happen to be very adept at hiding their true core values.

If you are moved to State power(offering justifications for inequality before the law) at the thought of being a victim of racism, you'd be well-advised to first make sure you aren't simultaneously providing cover for the worst among us.

The litmus test of honesty and respect for equality before the law, is whether or not you are prepared to respect the right to self-determination, where any subgroup remains unimpeded from leaving a political union to form a new one.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Sunday offered a prescription: Laugh it off.
